About me...
Hi...I’m Mel. I started practicing yoga over 20 years ago and soon fell in love. First of all, it was all about how I felt stronger and more flexible. I slept better and I felt calmer. But it wasn’t until I completed my 500 hours yoga teaching diploma, that yoga became a way of life, not just a physical practice.
QUALIFICATIONS
It is vital to teach Yoga with each students physiology in mind, as the practice of yoga exerts stresses on the body in order to condition. As part of my yoga training I studied anatomy and physiology extensively to enable me to support each student. I was also a registered NHS nurse for 10 ten years, so supporting and caring for people has always been a large part of my life.
I completed my Yoga teacher training diploma with the The British Wheel of Yoga, and have been teaching yoga now for 8 years. The British Wheel of Yoga is recognised by Sport England
as the governing body of yoga in Britain, and is the largest yoga membership organisation in the UK. It’s committed to promoting a greater understanding of yoga and its safe practice
experience, education, study and training. I attend ‘Continuing Professional Development’ courses regularly throughout each year.
I have also completed teen and child yoga teacher training.
